Community Meeting To Discuss Human Trafficking Realities, RAHAB Ministries, and Local Support

MACEDONIA, Ohio – The Nordonia Hills Community Connection will host a community meeting on March 26 at 10 a.m. to discuss the local impact of human trafficking and the specialized support services provided by RAHAB Ministries. This educational session, held at the United Methodist Church of Macedonia, aims to correct common misconceptions about sex trafficking while providing actionable ways for residents to support victims in Northeast Ohio.

The Realities of Human Trafficking in Summit County

Bethany Miller of RAHAB Ministries will lead a presentation focused on how human trafficking manifests within the local community, often in ways that differ from typical public perception. While many associate these crimes with international kidnapping, the discussion will highlight the nuances of local exploitation and the specific vulnerabilities found in northern Summit County. Miller will provide extensive information on the current landscape of the crisis to help faith leaders, nonprofits, and community members recognize the signs of domestic trafficking.

RAHAB Ministries: Providing Hope and Restoration

As a cornerstone of the event, the presentation will detail the specialized work of RAHAB Ministries, an organization dedicated to providing hope and resources to victims of human trafficking. Attendees will learn about the ministry’s specific intervention programs and how their “Ministry of Hope” model provides long-term support for survivors in the region. The session is designed to bridge the gap between community awareness and the professional services required to assist those currently in crisis.

How to Join the Nordonia Hills Speaker Series

The event is open to all community members and will take place in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church of Macedonia, located at 1280 E Aurora Rd. This is the second installment of the 2026 Spring Speaker Series hosted by the Nordonia Hills Community Connection. Light refreshments will be served, and those seeking further information or looking to RSVP can contact Cathy Miller via email at cmiller@umcofmacedonia.org.
