Concert Preview: 25th Anniversary Performance, World Premiere, and Classic Masterworks

The Master Singers Chorale of Northeast Ohio (MSC) is marking a major milestone this spring. The ensemble’s 25th anniversary season serves as a testament to its enduring role in the local arts community. Led by Artistic Director Dr. Marc Weagraff—a distinguished Professor of Voice and Choral Studies at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory—the group has curated a program that bridges the gap between historical choral traditions and contemporary composition.

World Premiere of “Everyone Sang” by Eric Charnofsky

A highlight of the 25th anniversary program is the world premiere of “Everyone Sang,” a new work commissioned for the chorale by composer Eric Charnofsky. Charnofsky, a faculty member at Case Western Reserve University, is well-known in the Northeast Ohio music scene for his versatile compositions. This debut performance offers local audiences a rare opportunity to experience a piece of modern choral history as it is performed for the very first time.

Classic Choral Works by Rutter, Brahms, and Mozart

In addition to the world premiere, the 25th anniversary concert will feature a rigorous selection of masterworks. The program includes pieces by celebrated composers such as John Rutter, Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Gabriel Fauré. These selections highlight the ensemble’s vocal range and commitment to the high-caliber repertoire that has defined the Master Singers Chorale for two and a half decades.
