Theft and Underage Offenses on Northfield Road

On April 29, 2026, at approximately 7:57 PM, Northfield Village officers were dispatched to the Circle K gas station on Northfield Road following a report of shoplifting. The investigation identified the suspect as an 18-year-old female from Solon. Notably, the individual was already scheduled for a separate court appearance the following morning. An officer made contact with her at the court and issued summonses for both theft and underage persons offenses.

Missing Juvenile Located in Sagamore Hills

Police received a report of a missing/runaway juvenile on April 30, 2026, at approximately 8:45 PM. The 17-year-old female had reportedly left her home on April 22 and refused to return. Within hours of the official report, at 11:09 PM, the juvenile was located in Sagamore Hills. After a medical evaluation, she was safely turned over to her mother.

Assault and Theft Incidents at Northfield Park Racino

The Northfield Village police blotter recorded multiple incidents at the Northfield Park Racino during this period:

  • Assault: On May 3, a male resident reported being assaulted the previous night by another male who waited for him after a race. Charges for assault are currently pending.

  • Voucher Theft: On May 5, a reporting party informed police that stolen vouchers had been cashed out at the casino. A suspect has been identified in this case.

Multiple OVI Arrests and Refusals

Two separate OVI incidents were documented during this week:

  • Hit-Skip OVI: On May 2, officers responded to the Northfield Racetrack for a hit-skip accident. They located the vehicle involved and arrested the driver for OVI. The driver was processed and later released to a sober party.

  • Parking Lot OVI: Early in the morning on May 6, security at the Racino reported an intoxicated male leaving in a Ford pickup truck. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot. The driver, who showed signs of impairment, refused field sobriety tests and a breath sample. He was issued a citation for OVI and BAC refusal.

Civil Disturbance on Lincoln Drive

On May 6, officers responded to a disturbance at a leasing office on Lincoln Drive. Following an investigation, the parties involved were separated and advised that they were no longer welcome at the office. The case was closed without further action.
