SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO—Summer is here! You’re jogging down the Towpath Trail, you’re walking through your neighborhood, you’re having a blast in the shade. What could make this more perfect? Man’s best friend, of course! Summer is not complete without a happy pup slobbering alongside you during a shady summer walk and relaxing with you in the balmy evenings. To kick off summer with companionship and fun, Summit County Executive Shapiro is announcing the “Fetch Your Summer Sidekick” adoption event.
Now through June 30, adoption fees will be reduced to $28 (regularly $94). All dogs are microchipped, fully vetted (including bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal de-worming, spay or neuter, and vaccinations), and ready to be taken home. All new dog parents will also receive a 2026 Summit County Dog License included in the adoption fee.
Residents can call 330-643-2845 to schedule an appointment or visit the facility during business hours. To browse pictures of adoptable pets, visit Summit County Animal Control’s Facebook or our website.
