A stretch of storefronts in Northfield Center has a new coat of paint and new signage this summer.
Downtown Northfield Center is showing off a cleaner look this summer. A row of storefronts along the main strip has been repainted black with white trim, replacing older finishes and giving the block a more updated feel. The building sits at a corner spot marked by a large NAPA Auto Parts sign and the classic yellow and red marquee for Farinacci Pizza, which advertises beer on tap.
Farinacci Pizza has been a fixture on this corner for a long time. Tilly’s Florist sits just a few doors down, with its own hanging sign. Dmitris Barber Shop occupies another storefront in the same row, marked by a red white and blue barber pole sign in the door and a printed sign listing the shop’s phone number.
Work Still Underway
Sawhorses, a traffic cone, and plastic taped over one window suggest the refresh is not quite finished. Painters appear to still be working through parts of the block, including trim work around some of the windows. The upper floor of the building, styled in white stucco with dark diamond accents, appears untouched by the recent painting below.
Turnover Nearby
A nearby building is also seeing change. A door in the same area shows signs of a new business moving in, though details have not been released. More information is expected soon.
What To Watch For
Northeast Ohio readers who know this stretch of Northfield Center will likely notice the change right away. The black exterior stands out against the white upper story, and the fresh paint gives longtime tenants like Farinacci Pizza and Tilly’s Florist a sharper backdrop.
One storefront in the newly painted building is currently listed for rent as retail or apartment space, with a handpainted sign in the window directing inquiries to 330 888 0136.
