Football (6-1)
Friday’s 44-14 win over Solon was the Knights’ most complete league performance so far. It was the kind of game the offense has been building toward all season, and it followed the 34-25 grind against North Royalton. The only loss remains the 23-21 heartbreaker at Highland. The win keeps Nordonia near the top of Division II, Region 5 as the second half of the schedule begins.
The younger Knights joined in on the Solon sweep, at least in part. JV football won 52-6 on Saturday, while the freshman team lost a nail-biter 18-20 on Thursday.
Volleyball (12-4)
This was a week with everything in it. The varsity swept Copley 3-0 on Tuesday to extend the winning streak to six. The streak ended Thursday, when Aurora took a 3-1 league win. The Knights bounced back Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Hudson. The JV team went L 1-2 vs. Copley, L 0-2 vs. Aurora and W 2-0 vs. Hudson. The freshmen lost 0-2 to both Aurora and Hudson.
Soccer
It was a tough week on the pitch. The boys varsity lost 0-2 to Twinsburg in a league game, tied Alliance 1-1 on Thursday, and fell 0-5 to Marlington on Saturday. The boys JV lost 0-7 to Twinsburg and 1-6 to Marlington. The girls varsity lost 0-2 at home to Twinsburg on Wednesday, which puts them at 4-5-2. The girls JV picked up a 1-0 win over Twinsburg.
Cross Country
The Madison Invitational was a bright spot on Saturday. The boys varsity finished 5th of 35 teams, and the girls were 20th of 29.
Golf
At the OHSAA Sectional Tournament, the girls varsity finished 7th of 16 teams on Wednesday. The boys varsity were 14th of 16 on Monday. On the JV side, the boys lost to Solon 207-174 on Tuesday, then beat Twinsburg 177-184 on Wednesday.
