Who doesn’t love Mexican food? Tacos, burritos, guacamole and lots of cheese! Talk about a pallet of pure deliciousness! This very deliciousness is what new business owner Joaquin Olan and his partner, Adan Flores have brought to his immaculately clean, very bright new location, 223 Highland Road E in Macedonia.
Rich, bold flavors is exactly what is on the menu at Tacos Mexicanos. Flavor explosion is a more accurate description! I got to experience the re-fried pinto beans and chorizo filled tacos. I was not disappointed at all! An even more appealing piece of information I learned from Olan is that the food is made fresh daily – even if that means making the guacamole three times in one day for each wave of guests! You will not be eating yesterday’s guacamole at Tacos Mexicanos! That alone will keep you coming back for more – but of course that is not the only reason! The service is outstanding.
Olan’s biggest concern is to make customers feel welcomed. Olan knows firsthand that the service industry may not always be the friendliest. He wants to make this the best experience for his customers. Being that Olan started from the ground up – he used to prep, do dishes, serve, cook and clean for other restaurants before becoming a manager. He has been there. Olan knows what it takes to make a restaurant thrive simply because he has experience all of the ropes. Olan understands what being present means. He is not the boss who shows up minimally to give orders. He is there daily. There has been no day off for Olan since the December 13 opening.
Simplicity and quality is what you can experience at Tacos Mexicanos along with an easy-to-read menu. Olan chose to make the menu small because he does not want to overwhelm you with choices. He wants to focus on the specialties such as the “bowls” that are a popular item.
One thing that is not so simple is the size of Olan’s heart. One of his future goals is to give back to the community. He wants to support the local schools especially by preparing meals for the athletes and various school events.
If you’re looking for flavor you can actually taste, exceptional service and a company operated by an individual who puts just as much compassion into his community as he does his menu then Tacos Mexicanos is the place for you!
