“Pageantry represents the things in my life that I’ve worked really hard for all coming together in a really powerful way. Many people think pageantry is very competitive, and they’re right.  BUT you’re competing with *yourself* over a past version of who you were a year ago, five years ago – not necessarily with other women. The women I’ve met through the Mrs. Ohio organization are some of the most amazing, selfless people I’ve ever met, and the camaraderie is one of my most cherished things. Even the teamwork behind the scenes is incredible! “- Katie Gross

Mrs. Akron, Katie Gross, has graced Northeast Ohio with her beauty, charm and grace.  Katie is a charitable, trendsetting, beautiful, businesswoman who just may be the 2022 Mrs. Ohio pageant winner.  On top of that, she’s married to the love of her life and has 2 beautiful children. The local beauty queen is the owner of the highly successful Suburban Lash & Beauty. *sidenote* Katie’s salon is one of the sponsors of Kareem Hunt’s Top Golf Charity Event. She won Little Miss Stark County in middle school and went on to participate in the Canton Pro Hall of Fame Queen and Royal Ambassador Pageant at 18; where she placed in the top 10. Katie sent in a phenomenal photo and bio to win this year’s 2021 Mrs. Akron Pageant. The married mom of two, Mrs. Akron title, earned her a spot in the 2021 Mrs. Ohio Pageant; which consists of 50% interview with the judges, 25% percent fitness, and 25% evening gown as a grading scale. She does plan to compete for the 2022 title. Katie raved about competing in “Mrs. Pageants” saying, “There is more teamwork in Mrs. pageants. Everyone is not out for themselves. Most of us have kids, so we get it.” There is also no height or age requirement for Mrs. pageants which is a huge draw. Which makes it unbelievably hard to believe it’s not televised. The owner of Suburban Lash has a few new projects in the works. The beauty queen is working on an upcoming podcast called The One With All The 90’s. The “bangin” podcast will feature talks about 90s icons, incidents, headlines and personal stories.

– “I love my children, but I loved me first. I didn’t want to ever lose my sense of self while going through the motions of life. Now my kids are seeing me grow and provide opportunities that would have never happened without pageantry. My daughter has said she wants to compete someday too !”- Katie Gross

– “Pageantry keeps you evolving in areas you might have otherwise put on the back burner while busily raising a family – like fitness, community involvement, public speaking etc to become the best version of yourself. “- Katie Gross
