A Penny’s Thoughts by Tommy O’Sionnach: A Book Review by JC Sullivan

The next time you handle a penny think about the roads it has traveled. The author writes under the Irish Gaelic name of Tommy O’Sionnach, aka Tommy Fox. He has penned a very creative book in which he uses the medium of a penny speaking about the people who have had it in their own pocket.

An ex-pat Lakewood native now living in Altoona, Pennsylvania, we are introduced to his writings and the people who have been a part of his own life. For example, from the Chapter titled ’Patrick:’

“I have spent my days thinking about the past. About the places, things and, most importantly, the people I have come across. I would guess they have numbered into the thousands, and there is no way I could recall every stop on my journey, but I wonder how things turned out for those who were in possession of me at one time or another.”

After reading it, Sagamore Hills Resident Mary Jo Connors commented “I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a quick and easy read. What I liked best are the local places and people I recognized and being able to put it down from one Chapter to the next and pick it back up. It’s thought-provoking as far as considering yourself in places you’ve been and how they affected you.

The book can be found on Amazon.com and booksellers everywhere.
