It was a good crowd at American House on Tuesday night. The event started out with socializing on the back patio.
The crowd soon moved inside. The Invocation was led by Pastor Chase L. Jones and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Becky Milia. Dinner was served and the Master of Ceremonies, Past District Governor Jim McKee kicked off the night.
As a side note, I approached Jim at the end of the night because, included in his speech he talked about meeting John Bosco 40 years ago in Ashtabula. I went to Kent-Ashtabula around that time, and as it turns out, Jim and I are old friends! I remember the day, back then, when he asked me to help make posters and I ended up being co-editor of the school newspaper!
But I digress.
Next up on the agenda was the induction of new members by Rotary Past District Governor David Skrzynski

The highlight of the night was the auction. It is not an understatement to say that there was a lot of loud last minute bids. Jim McKee as the auctioneer, had us almost rolling on the floor laughing (ROTLF).
The auction was held to raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park. David Pristash accepted the $1500 that was raised from the 10 Veteran Medallions auctioned off and State of Ohio Flag donated by Macedonia Mayor Nick Molnar.
