SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION (1/10/25): A sexual assault investigation was initiated at the Avenue of Macedonia when a resident reported being kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a staff member approximately six weeks prior. The resident claimed they were taken to Knights Inn without proper sign-out procedures. Staff interviews suggested the resident may have been upset about the staff member’s new relationship, and a receptionist stated they frequently left the building together willingly. The complaint coincided with the resident receiving a 30-day vacate notice for smoking violations. No charges were filed.
RETAIL THEFT – (1/11/25): Officers responded to Tractor Supply for a reported theft. The suspect, Magnum Tackett, was observed stealing multiple knives. Through investigation and Flock camera footage, officers located the suspect’s vehicle at Kohl’s. The driver, Joshua McCartney, claimed he was giving a ride to “Mark.” Officers found Tackett at Popeyes, discovered stolen merchandise on his person, and a suspicious folded dollar bill containing purple powder. Total stolen merchandise valued at $379.90 was recovered and returned. Tackett was arrested and charged with theft.
FAMILY DISPUTE (1/11/25): High school basketball player and mother had verbal altercation over lost earbuds. Officers conducted welfare check, determined it was parenting dispute without immediate concerns.
RETAIL THEFT (1/11/25): Officers responded to Walgreens for a theft report. The suspect concealed items in store bags and was confronted by loss prevention. Investigation revealed stolen Infinitive Bluetooth headphones and power bank totaling $65.98. The suspect, Leondre D. Wilson, was arrested and charged with attempted theft and possession of criminal tools through Macedonia Mayor’s Court.
NARCOTICS DISCOVERY (1/14/25): PostNet employees reported discovering marijuana in packages intended for Florida shipping. An unknown male had dropped off two packages, which clerks opened after smelling marijuana. They found two mason jars containing marijuana weighing 456.9 and 509.2 grams respectively. Items were seized and held as found property.
FRAUD REPORT (1/15/25): A fraud report was filed after a credit card was canceled due to suspicious activity. The victim lost $39 to fraudulent charges and later received threatening emails demanding payment to keep personal information private. The credit card company had already closed the compromised account. Report filed for documentation.
PROPERTY DAMAGE (1/16/25): Officers responded to N Bedford Road at Ledge Road for a damaged stop sign. Investigation revealed a semi-truck had struck the sign while making a U-turn. Tire tracks were visible in snow, but no suspect vehicle was located. Macedonia Truck Repair was checked for damaged vehicles with negative results. Case suspended pending new information.
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS (1/18/25): During a traffic stop on Valley View Road, Markeya Hill was cited for driving 51 mph in a 35 zone. Hill became confrontational, refused to provide information or sign citations, and walked in the roadway after being issued tickets for speed, license display, and seatbelt violations. Additional charges for walking along highways were filed.
POLICE PURSUIT – PARMA (1/18/25): Officers assisted Parma Police with a pursuit on Shepard Road. Stop sticks were deployed successfully near Longwood YMCA. The pursuit ended on E Highland Road near Villa Lago Drive with suspects in custody.
POLICE PURSUIT – BEDFORD HEIGHTS (1/18/25): Officers assisted Bedford Heights Police with a pursuit ending on I-271 SB north of Ledge Road. Upon arrival, the suspect was already in custody and assistance was no longer needed.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS (1/18/25): Officers responded to GetGo for a trespassing complaint. Jessica Robinson, previously banned on 12/31/24, had entered the store twice. Despite claiming manager permission, verification proved this false. Robinson was located at Knights Inn and arrested for criminal trespass.
DEATH INVESTIGATION 1/20/25): Officers performed a welfare check at a residence on Melody Lane after the occupant failed to report to work. Entry was gained through an unlocked back door, where the resident was discovered deceased in bed. No signs of trauma were observed. Macedonia Fire Department responded, and the death was pronounced at 12:22 p.m. The body was released to the Summit County Medical Examiner, as no next of kin could be located.
PACKAGE THEFT (1/21/25): A resident reported missing Amazon deliveries from their Brookpoint Drive residence. Packages were allegedly delivered on 1/17-1/18, but items including a heater, shower system, ceiling fan light, and ceiling fan (total value $674) were missing. Unclear if items were stolen or never delivered. Report filed for Amazon investigation.
RETAIL THEFT – WALMART (1/21/25): Loss prevention detained Donzell Watson for theft at self-checkout. Watson failed to scan all items while appearing to shop normally. Total theft was $78.91 in cooking supplies, food, beverages, and laundry items. Watson claimed scanner malfunction but was arrested for misdemeanor theft. Purchased items were held for retrieval after release
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT (1/23/25): A two-vehicle collision occurred at 8410 Shepard Road when a driver failed to yield while exiting a driveway. Their vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle. Both vehicles sustained damage but no injuries were reported. The driver at fault was cited for failure to yield.
