MACEDONIA — The city will cut the ribbon on a new paved trail at Longwood Park during a ceremony Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
The 10-foot-wide asphalt trail circles the baseball fields at the park, located at 1566 East Aurora Road, and extends to Longwood Manor before connecting with the existing wooded trail system. The 1.04-mile loop is designed to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, bicycles and pedestrians.
City officials will lead an inaugural lap around the trail following the ceremony, which will take place near the lake. The event will include photo and interview opportunities for media and attendees.
The mixed-use path offers a safe, scenic route for residents to enjoy the outdoors together while creating a more integrated and inclusive network for visitors to one of Macedonia’s most popular parks.
The project enhances accessibility and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities. All community members are welcome to attend and celebrate the addition to Macedonia’s park system.
