Macedonia Fire Department Celebrates Paramedic School Graduates Strengthening Community Safety
MACEDONIA, Ohio – The City of Macedonia is celebrating the achievements of four Macedonia Fire Department members who recently completed UH Parma Medical Center’s rigorous paramedic program, strengthening the city’s emergency response capabilities and adding to a proud local firefighting tradition.
On Friday, December 12, Charles Eppinger, Evan Galarza, Keiran Bell, and Austin Neel graduated from UH Parma Medical Center’s paramedic school. All four are now serving the community as part-time fire-medics with the Macedonia Fire Department, marking an important milestone for both the department and residents who rely on fast, skilled emergency care.
Eppinger, Bell, and Neel were already working as part-time firefighters with the department prior to completing their paramedic training. Galarza officially started with the Macedonia Fire Department the same day he graduated, stepping directly into service for the community.
For Keiran Bell, the accomplishment carries special meaning. He continues a multi-generational legacy of service within the Macedonia Fire Department. His grandfather, Don Bell, and his father, Brian Bell, both served the City of Macedonia during their firefighting careers, making Keiran the third generation in his family to protect the community.
City leaders and department officials have expressed pride in the new Macedonia paramedic graduates, noting that the additional skills and training these four fire-medics bring to the department will enhance the level of care provided at the scene of medical emergencies.
The City of Macedonia extends its gratitude to Eppinger, Galarza, Bell, and Neel for their dedication, long hours of study, and commitment to serving residents in their most critical moments. Their willingness to advance their training and take on the responsibilities of paramedic-level care demonstrates a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.
