County Executive shares achievements, outlines innovative future in State of the County Address

SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO—Earlier today, Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro delivered her fourth State of the County Address at the John S. Knight Center in Downtown Akron. The event was sponsored by the Akron Press Club and the proceeds directly benefit scholarships for local students studying journalism and public relations.

In her speech, County Executive Shapiro recounted the actions taken by her office and a wide range of community partners to alleviate the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. She then detailed the innovative advancements her office is leading in the areas of public safety, economic development, internet access and others. Her speech made it clear, the dedicated public servants at the County are crafting a better, stronger future for all Summit County residents.
