NordoniaHills.News played such a tremendous role in my journey as an aspiring sports reporter.
It all started in my freshman year at Nordonia High School when Julie D’Aloiso gave me the
opportunity to begin a sports podcast, The Cleveland Sports Show. That was what ultimately started my career in the sports media industry. Julie and her family were so supportive in helping me make the podcast the best it could be. Whenever I had questions, I always knew Julie would be able to help.
My work with the podcast opened up more opportunities for me at NordoniaHills.News. I had the chance to get my first experience in play-by-play broadcasting when I called games for the Nordonia boys varsity basketball team from my sophomore year until I graduated. Working at those games gave me the chance to connect with the Nordonia community and collaborate with other student workers at NordoniaHills.News.
During the Covid pandemic, Julie allowed me to write articles and improve my writing skills.
This was a great way for me to work on another important aspect of journalism during a time when sports were put on hold.
All of the experience I gained from my experience at NordoniaHills.News gave me a great head start as I began my career at Ohio University. It gave me the confidence I needed to get to the next level of sports reporting and continue improving my craft.
I would not be in the position I am in today without the efforts of those at NordoniaHills.News. It was an amazing four years and I am proud to see that the website is still going strong!
I am so happy to have been a part of the NordoniaHills.News family. I would like to thank the D’Aloiso family and the rest of the Nordonia community for all of their continued support.
Congratulations on your seven-year anniversary! Best of luck in the years to come!
