Dedicated Kitchen Beverage Centers

Imagine what it would be like having an area of your kitchen specifically designed to meet your every cold-beverage preference. Dedicated beverage centers are now trending in a big way. According to a recent National Kitchen and Bath Association poll, more than half of those surveyed plan to install specialized beverage storage and appliances in their kitchens. From beer and wine to juice boxes and fresh smoothies, these centers are only limited by your imagination and budget.

Why do I need one?

One reason is to save space in your refrigerator. Storing drinks such as beer and wine in your main refrigerator can take up a lot of space. With a dedicated beverage refrigerator, you will have more room for food storage. No more jockeying the Thanksgiving turkey around the fridge for space.

Another reason is you can maintain a constant temperature for specific beverages such as beer or wine. Many fridges can hold more than 100 cans. This means you can stock up on your favorite drinks and not have to wait hours for them to be cold enough to enjoy.

Most fridges come with a glass door that allows you to see what drink you want before opening the door. While most glass door fridges will set you back around $500, the more luxurious temperature-controlled wine and beer options will be north of that number. Families with children will be interested to know that some models come with a lockout feature that allows parents to monitor their children’s soda consumption.

Where would I install a beverage center?

Most beverage appliances have a slim, attractive profile that fits flush with the existing cabinets in the kitchen. The most common place for a beverage fridge is under the countertop in your kitchen. It is also perfectly at home under a kitchen island or in a walk-in pantry.

Freestanding beverage centers can be installed in any room, including the living room, the den or a bedroom. If installed in the living room or den, there is no need to get up from your comfy chair or sofa to walk to the kitchen for a drink; it will be easily within reach. Having one in your bedroom is like having your own hotel mini bar. The beverage center can also be made accessible to an outdoor patio or deck so guests can easily help themselves to cold drinks. This certainly adds convenience to any gathering, especially for the host.

Is there another option?

If you do not have the space available for either of those two options, you might consider replacing your current refrigerator with one that serves several functions. One such French four-door model is not only a refrigerator, but also has a spacious ice-making compartment along with a separate pullout drawer specifically for beverages. This luxury appliance has five preprogrammed settings to deliver the right temperature for different beverages.

Given its rising popularity, a dedicated beverage center may soon be a common feature in American homes. Contact us for more ideas on how to add convenience and practicality to your home. Cheers!
