Summit County Land Bank Seeks Projects for Residential and Commercial Demolition Dollars
AKRON, OH (December 14, 2021) — With the recent announcement of approximately $150 million in residential and commercial demolition funds from the State of Ohio, the Summit County Land Bank is seeking projects from eligible participants. The funding is made available through the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program at the Ohio Department of Development. As lead applicant for the funds in Summit County, the Land Bank is launching an online platform to collect proposed project information, for an initial application to submitted later this month to the Ohio Department of Development. The online platform, which can be found by visiting the Summit County Land Bank website at www.summitlandbank.org/demo, will be available beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, and will close on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Additional projects may be collected after this date, should funding remain available through the state. Eligible participants are encouraged to visit the Summit County Land Bank website regularly for more information and updates.
The new $150 million program is a supplement to a much larger $350 million Brownfield Remediation Program operated by the Ohio Department of Development. Interested applicants for the Brownfield Remediation Program should apply directly to the Ohio Department of Development.
