Jersey Mike’s Celebrates 15 th Annual “Month of Giving” by partnering with Prayers From Maria
In a powerful demonstration of community support, 44 Jersey Mike’s Subs locations across Northeast Ohio are teaming up with the Prayers From Maria Children’s Cancer Foundation for their 15th annual “Month of Giving” campaign this March.
Month-Long Fundraising Initiative
Throughout the entire month of March, Jersey Mike’s customers can contribute to this important cause in several ways:
- Round up their purchase to the nearest dollar
- Add a donation of $1, $3, or $5 to their order
- Visit on Wednesday, March 26th for the culminating “Day of Giving,” when 100% of sales—not just profits—will be donated directly to the foundation
“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales — every penny — goes to help a great local cause,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.
Supporting Critical Childhood Cancer Research
The Prayers From Maria Foundation, known for its iconic Sunflower Fields of Hope featured on the Today Show with Willie Geist, has already contributed over $12 million to the fight against childhood brain cancer. The foundation works to fund global research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and ultimately a cure for the deadliest childhood brain tumors, while also raising public awareness and bringing hope to affected families.
Jersey Mike’s Subs, which began in 1956 and has grown to more than 4,000 locations nationwide, has made community giving a cornerstone of its business model through initiatives like the Month of Giving.
A Community United Against Childhood Cancer
Megan McNamara, co-founder and Maria’s mother, emphasizes the importance of community participation: “It is a powerful reminder that when we come together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these children touched by cancer. Each sub purchased on March 26th, and every donation helps fund the next promising clinical trial.”
This Day of Giving combines charity and community, allowing all Northeast Ohio Jersey Mike’s restaurants to join together in the fight against childhood cancer.
