Exciting News for Idlewood Park!
The long-awaited replacement pedestrian bridge over Tinker’s Creek at Idlewood Park has officially been installed! This new addition to the park is ready to welcome hikers, walkers, and nature enthusiasts later today.
While Hurricane Helene caused a brief delay in the bridge’s delivery due to road closures in the Carolinas, we’re grateful to see this project come to life. The bridge not only enhances the beauty and accessibility of Idlewood Park but also represents an investment in creating spaces everyone can enjoy.
Highlights of the Project:
‣ A brand-new single-span steel truss bridge designed to last for generations.
‣ Elevated 4.5 feet to better protect against flooding and ensure a safer experience.
‣ ADA-compliant sidewalks, ramps, and landings for easy access for all visitors.
This update is a step forward in ensuring Idlewood Park is more accessible and enjoyable for all to use.
