Autumn colors in northeast Ohio can be breathtaking. And we’re blessed with a great multitude of wonderful venues to visit and be entranced by nature’s beauty: Cleveland Metro Parks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) Summit Metro Parks and more. But did you know there are also some beautiful spots right here in the Twinsburg area?
At this time of year, I spend as much time as possible outdoors, hiking or biking or just exploring the area. Here are a few shots from this year’s adventures. Though colors have been muted this year due to very (very!) dry conditions in September and early October, there were still lovely areas right around the corner.
Center Valley Park
Bracketing a portion of Tinkers Creek as it meanders through Twinsburg, this park is highlighted by a paved multi-purpose trail. But step off onto rustic, well-marked trails along the way and be transported to a numerous lovely, scenic spots.
Glen Chamberlin Park
This park is located behind Twinsburg HS and features a variety of short trails coupled with seasonal creeks.
Moraine Park
Tucked away in a neighborhood and on the backside of another park, Moraine offers a basketball court, picnic shelter, ballfield, and a short, winding trail along Tinkers Creek.
Old Hickory Trail
This trail originates at the Twinsburg Community Gardens and is a combination hiking/mountain biking trail that terminates in a local neighborhood.
Tinkers Creek State Nature Preserve
This preserve is located in Twinsburg Township and it’s fairly lightly visited. But there’s a flat, easy trail winding through seven small, very scenic ponds that makes it worth a visit. Especially in the fall.
