On a misty and cool fall afternoon, the Nordonia Golf Lady Knights embarked on a match against Stow-Munroe Falls High School at Fox Den Golf Course on September 28th.
Leading the charge was Julia Gulla, who displayed her golfing prowess with an impressive score of 35 (par). Brooke Barnes closely followed with a notable individual shot of 43. Other members of the Nordonia Girls’ team included Carley, with an individual score of 46, and Maddie Eisner, who recorded a 47.
A special shoutout goes to sophomore Delaney Gorta, who not only made her debut in her first varsity match but also achieved a personal best score of 53. Fantastic job, Delaney! Although this match marked the Lady Knights’ last of the season, it ended in a loss.
The Lady Bulldogs secured the victory with a total overall team score of 151, while the Lady Knights scored 171. Notably, for the Lady Bulldogs, senior Gabby Berlingieri delivered an exceptional performance, setting a school record for nine holes with a remarkable score of 31-4.
Gabby’s round included two birdies and an eagle on hole #6, with no bogeys. Other contributors for the Stow Bulldogs were Olivia Berlingieri (36), Lily Gualtiere (41), and Sophia Thompson (43).
In the evening of the same day, the junior varsity teams of both high schools faced off, with Lily Gualtiere of the Lady Bulldogs achieving her personal best for nine holes with a score of 41.
