The Varsity Nordonia girls’ golf team embarked on a journey to Cuyahoga Falls for an 18-hole friendly match against the Highland High School golf team.
The match took place on a Thursday afternoon at Brookledge Golf Course. The formidable Lady Hornets demonstrated their strength and narrowly outperformed the Lady Knights in a closely contested match.
Junior Julia Gulla led the charge for the Lady Knights with an individual score of 81, while Brooke Barnes contributed with a score of 88. Natalie Barnes recorded a tally of 95, and Carley finished with 115. Maddie Eisner and Chelsey Wolf both scored 113. The team’s combined score was 377.
The Lady Hornets, on the other hand, utilized this match as preparation for the upcoming Suburban League Conference and Sectionals. Elizabeth Coleman took the lead with an impressive performance, finishing just 3 over par at 74, followed closely by Paige McKendry, who scored 75. The team posted a total score of 308.
