The Nordonia High School varsity girls’ volleyball team concluded their season on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, with a loss to Twinsburg High School in the OHSAA district semi-final match. The match took place at Akron North High School, commencing at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Tigers displayed their dominance right from the start, securing victory in all three sets with identical scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-17. They showcased their strength and skill in both offensive and defensive play, outperforming the Lady Knights in every facet of the game.
The Lady Knights gave their best effort to keep pace with the Lady Tigers but were unable to bridge the point gap. In the first set, they fought valiantly but fell short by five points. The second set presented a similar challenge, as they trailed by as much as seven points at one stage. Although they aimed to extend the match to a fourth set, the Lady Tigers had different intentions. Taking an early lead in the third set, they never looked back, sealing their victory with a final score of 25-17.
With their win, the Lady Tigers celebrated their advancement to the district championship game, where they would face Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (NDCL) on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Akron North High School.
