Unfortunately, the Nordonia Lady Knights’ season has concluded as they secured the 11th position in the ongoing Northeast Ohio District Athletic Association 2023 Girls Sectional Golf Tournament Division 1 competition.
The journey was undoubtedly challenging, as the girls battled on a demanding course with fast greens while facing formidable competition. The team posted a score of 368, with junior Julia Gulla leading the way with 38 on the front nine and 41 on the back, resulting in an individual total score of 79.
Following closely was senior Brooke Barnes, who contributed to the team’s score with 83 points. Other notable contributions came from Natalie Barnes, with a score of 101 (47 on the front nine and 54 on the back), Carley Sutton, with 105 points (50 on the front nine and 55 on the back), and Maddie Eisner, with a score of 109 (55 on the front nine and 54 on the back).
Isabella Goyette of the Highland Hornets secured the medalist title for the competition, delivering an impressive individual score of 73. The Blue Streak team claimed first place in the district competition with a total score of 323, tying with the Highland Hornets, also with 323 points.
The Hudson Explorers and Hoover Vikings secured the third and fourth positions, with team scores of 343 and 345, respectively. The Highland Girls Golf, Magnificat Girls Golf, Hudson Girls Golf, and Hoover Girls Golf teams, all ranking in the top four, will advance to Columbus next week as they continue their season.
