On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, the visiting Nordonia Varsity Girls Volleyball team emerged victorious in their match against Stow-Munroe Falls High School, securing a 3-1 victory and extending their winning streak to three matches.
The match proved to be a hard-fought battle, occurring the previous night, as Nordonia (7-14) squared off against Stow (4-17) in a four-game showdown.
Here’s a breakdown of the four sets: The first set was tightly contested, with Nordonia falling to Stow 22-25. Nordonia rebounded in the second set, claiming victory with a score of 25-15. They carried their momentum into the third set, where they dominated Stow with a score of 25-22.
The fourth set was a nail-biter, with Nordonia ultimately sealing the match with a 30-28 triumph. The standout performer for the Knights was sophomore Riley Kinnell, who earned the Golden Knight Award with an impressive tally of 17 kills.
Notably, she has received this award three times this season, with the first recognition occurring on September 13, followed by the second just six days later. Other notable contributors to the team’s success included Junior Aleithia Wilson, who recorded 8 kills and 1 serving point; Sophomore Madison DuPont, who notched 8 kills and 5 serving points; and Sophomore Mariah Moss, who contributed with 4 kills.
