FISCAL OFFICER SCALISE ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF AND DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL

Akron, Ohio – Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise, CPA, CFE, has announced two  promotions within her office, effective January 1, 2025. Joe Fantozzi has been promoted to  Assistant Chief of Staff, and Christine Basile has been promoted to Director of Personnel.

Joe Fantozzi, who has served the County of Summit for 17 years, brings a wealth of knowledge  to his new role. Fantozzi began his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Summit  County Prosecutor’s Office. In 2018, he transitioned to the Summit County Fiscal Office, where  he served as Director of Recording. Since 2021, Fantozzi has served as Director of Personnel and  Legislative Counsel. He holds a Juris Doctorate and proudly serves on the Executive Committee  of the County Auditors Association of Ohio and the Legislative Committee of the County  Treasurers Association of Ohio.

“Joe’s broad range of experience in county government, combined with his expertise in  legislative affairs, play a crucial role in promoting my administration’s ongoing initiatives,” said  Fiscal Officer Scalice. “I am thankful for his extensive knowledge, and I am excited to see him  continue to play a role in moving my office forward as Assistant Chief of Staff.”

Christine Basile has worked for the Summit County Fiscal Office for 20 years. She began her  career in the Recorder Division and has held various roles throughout the years. Since 2020,  Basile has served as the Assistant Director of Personnel. Basile’s longstanding dedication to the  office, combined with her experience, has made her a key leader within the office.

“Christine’s deep understanding of the Fiscal Office makes her an ideal candidate for this role,” said Fiscal Officer Scalise. “Her promotion is well-deserved, and I am confident she will continue  to strengthen our team and ensure we deliver the highest standards of service to the residents of Summit County.”
