FISCAL OFFICER SCALISE LAUNCHES PROPERTY RECORD ALERT TO HELP RESIDENTS COMBAT PROPERTY RECORD FRAUD

Akron, Ohio, May 02, 2024 – Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE is proud  to introduce Property Record Alert, a free automated email alert system to help Summit County  residents safeguard against property record fraud.

Property Record Alert is an alert system that notifies property owners when any documents are  recorded using their personal information. Property Record Alert generates and sends  automated email alerts detailing the recordings, which can then be used by residents to  determine whether acts of fraud have been committed or if the recordings are valid.

“While it doesn’t happen often in Summit County, we have seen an uptick in title theft and  deed fraud over the past couple of years,” said Fiscal Officer Scalise. “So as a proactive  measure, I am proud to offer this free monitoring system to all Summit County property  owners”.

This service will be available beginning May 13th, 2024. To sign up, property owners can visit our  Self-Service Site at https://summitcountyoh-web.tylerhost.net/web/, and click on Property  Record Alert. Email alerts can be configured based on first and last names, or business names.

Summit County residents who receive an alert that appears suspicious or fraudulent can  contact the Summit County Fiscal Office Recorder Division by calling 330-643-2712 or emailing  summittreas@summitoh.net.
