A drive past the Fleet Response Headquarters on Boston Mills Road in Hudson will leave those who pass the display in awe over the large, beautiful field of American flags completely covering the campus.
A total of 60 flags stand proudly ahead of Veterans Day, serving as a reminder for all to remember those who have died defending the United States, and to uphold values of Americanism and patriotism.
The flags are for remembering and reflecting on our country’s heroes. From soldiers to nurses, heroes are never the same, but the principles that define their lives are always recognized in red, white, and blue.
Volunteers from the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) installed the flags for the 2nd year at Fleet Response. The Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) is a non-profit organization created to honor patriots who serve, or have served, in the armed forces by working to minimize the sacrifices endured by them and their families.
NEOPAT partners with Operation Flags of Freedom to support the mission to promote patriotism in our local communities, honor veterans who gave their lives in service for our country as well as the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
“When you stop for a second, and actually take a moment to appreciate it, it really moves you,” said President Allison Lanzilotta. “It’s a feeling you will never forget, and one you will look forward to every year.”
In addition to the 60 American flags, flags from each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces were also placed near the headquarters entrance. Veteran employees are recognized with a name placard and the military branch they served in.
