This year’s Summit for Kids Symposium will focus on youth suicide and the ways in which families are being affected by this crisis. The symposium will take place at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Main Branch in downtown Akron on Friday, August 17th, from 9:00a.m- 4:00p.m.
The symposium, entitled “A Focus on Youth Suicide: What Communities Can Do,” will focus on education and community resources, innovative approaches and responses, and solution-focused family supports.
This session has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 4.75 total CLE hours instruction. Summit County Children Services is an Approved Continuing Education Provider through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Social Worker Approved Provider #RSX-038707 and Counselor Approved Provider #RCX-019008. This session approved for 5 hours for Social Workers and Counselors.
Registration for the symposium is $50.00 per person. The price includes Summit for Kids Breakfast from 7:30am-8:45am, located at the John S. Knight Center and parking.
