RANCH CHIPPING & STORM UPDATE
FOR NORTHFIELD CENTER
Last night’s storm caused severe damage to our entire region, knocking down trees and causing widespread power outages. While power has been restored to most of our township, there are areas still without power, mostly in the southern portions. Work crews are in our township trying to restore power but it still might take until tomorrow or later for all areas to be restored.
Our Service Department will be out picking up branches, limbs and logs to assist with the massive cleanup. All residents are asked to place limbs with the THICKER ends pointing towards the street and not to place them into one pile – Spread them out. It becomes a tangled mess to take apart to chip.
The Department will first concentrate their efforts on clearing trees and branches that have fallen across our streets. They will then proceed to make multiple rounds on each street. This work might impact the ongoing leaf pick up for a few weeks but updates will be available on our Township website and Facebook.
We ask that you please be patient during this unprecedented event. We are not alone since this was a region-wide disaster. Also, if you are able, please consider helping your neighbors, especially the elderly who could use help clearing debris from their yards.
Thank you and good luck to everyone impacted by the storm.
