16-YEARS IS ENOUGH
For the past sixteen years, I’ve had the joy, great honor and the privilege of serving as a Trustee for the people of Northfield Center Township. Last August I informed my family and close friends that I decided not to seek a fifth term.
Although I have numerous reasons for my decision, suffice it to say that sixteen years is enough. I proudly served my community, now it’s someone else’s turn.
In this business, you make many friends along with a few enemies. That’s the nature of the business. I look forward to continuing those friendships and perhaps, eventually, making new ones with those who disagreed with me on past issues. That should also be the nature of this business.
To my successor, whoever he/she might be, I offer a few pointers;
Always do what is best for the majority. Don’t be pressured by small, self-serving vocal groups.
Tell the people the truth and what they NEED to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear. Give them the facts and stick to your guns despite the inevitable criticism.
Ignore social media lies and rumors about you – The truth will eventually come out and vindicate you!
With that stated, I plan to pursue my other interests and while doing so, I will continue to enjoy living in this friendly and safe community that my family and I have called home for the past twenty-one years.
