Gateway Financial, LLC and Lahrmer & Company, LLC are excited to announce a furthering of their relationship.
With both companies located in the Ritenour building at 9821 Olde Eight Road, Northfield, OH 44067, Todd Pouliot and Chad Lahrmer have developed a strong ecosystem between their services and clients. After observing their growing needs individually, they believed formalizing the relationship will allow their clients to understand the importance of tax planning alongside financial planning.
Chad M. Lahrmer, CPA founded Lahrmer & Company, LLC in October of 2005. He brings extensive knowledge and expertise in a variety of specialty areas, including individual taxes and small business tax returns. Chad has lived and worked in Nordonia most of his life and has been highly active in local youth organizations and the local school district.
Todd J. Pouliot, AIF founded Gateway Financial, LLC in October of 2008 and recently restructured the business as a fee-only, full-time fiduciary, and wholly independent financial planning firm, removing commissions as a conflict of interest. “I want our clients to understand that we don’t answer to shareholders, [but that] we answer to you, our clients”, said Pouliot.
Both firms are maintaining their separate businesses and have no plans to merge. But, this agreement aligns their commitment to a high-quality client process and the importance of tax planning in every financial planning strategy. “Having a CPA and your financial planner in one room together makes sense,” said Lahrmer. “There are many times when a client comes to me with something their advisor has done without taking into consideration what this means for their taxes, and it’s often too late to correct the mistake. Having a close relationship with the investment advisor can be critical to avoiding bad decisions”.
Pouliot stated, “I’ve always been able to get out of my chair and walk over to ask Chad a tax question for a client, and I’ve always left my door open to him with any questions that he’s had over the years. I think clients love the fact that they get access to experts, no matter what the question”.
