Nordonia’s strong defensive effort not enough in 1-0 Suburban League opener
The Nordonia Knights Girls Soccer team dropped their Suburban League opener 1-0 to Brecksville-Broadview Heights Tuesday in a defensive struggle that remained scoreless through the first half.
The Bees broke through late in the second half on a corner kick header that proved to be the match’s only goal. Despite the loss, Nordonia goalkeeper Mallory Larrick delivered an outstanding performance with 12 saves to keep her team in contention throughout the physical contest.
The Knights’ defensive unit of Maggie Hanson, Juliana Tench, Alaina Johnson, and Brynley Henn provided solid support in front of Larrick during the hard-fought match.
Nordonia (1-3) will look to regroup when they travel to North Canton Hoover for a 3 p.m. match Saturday, August 30.
