The dramatic, Netflix series is set in the year 2026 when an urban, Caucasian family adopted a young African American teen named Keyshawn. When Keyshawn is adopted, he discovered the privileged family owns their own private shipping company. With a history of jumping from family to family, Keyshawn resists getting close to his new brother, Donnie, and sister, Cammy. After being in his new family for two full years, Keyshawn searches for his own blood relatives. When Keyshawn and Donnie start to discover the secrets of the family business, their own secret emerges. After discovering his Uncle Jack online, Keyshawn and Donnie join Jack in the drug business of using and selling marijuana. By the year 2039, the brothers struggled to choose between trading illegal substances that brought them together and trading their own secrets and safety. In an intoxicating and soul-stirring series, Our Family Money will bring you to the edge of your seat wondering just who you can trust.
Brandon Friedrich, the actor who portrays Donnie, was ecastatic to expand his horizons for such a deep series. “It was really fun to be apart of such an inspiring production,” Friedrich expressed. “I always enjoyed being on set because it allowed me to express myself in various ways through an artistic channel. I have always found acting to be the greatest source of joy in my life.”
Compared to most Netflix productions, Our Family Money was locally made and thrived on collaboration rather than budget resources. “When you are working with a smaller production and the budget is lower, you form closer relationships. Personally, I enjoy the smaller budget productions because you get more hands-on work with direction in the scenes,” said Friedrich. Our very own Nordonia alumna, Haylee Holt, acted as Bailey in a scene with Friedrich and expressed her own experience on set. “Although this film has dark and deep themes, the entire atmosphere on set is filled with such a relaxed and positive energy. It was weird because we would go between crying when we were rolling and laughing when we were setting up the next take,” Holt said.

Our Family Money is a Pulse Entertainment production of a futuristic, intricate, interracial drug war between two completely opposite brothers who come from the same past. One from the corporate world, and the other on the street. When the two worlds collide, it will ultimately come down to who can handle the consequences of their own secrets?
