Knights and Vikings deadlock in defensive struggle

The Nordonia Knights and Hoover Vikings played to a 0-0 tie in a defensive battle Saturday afternoon at Hoover High School. Both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the non-conference matchup.

The Knights entered the match with a 1-3-1 record, while the Vikings came in at 1-2-3. Despite both teams’ early season struggles, neither could break through for the decisive goal.

Nordonia’s Sabrina Nanne leads the Knights with one goal and four shots on the season. For Hoover, goalkeeper Mallory Larrick has posted a 1.412 goals-against average through six matches.

The tie leaves both teams searching for momentum as they head into the heart of their respective schedules. Nordonia will look to build on their recent 2-0 victory over Perry, while Hoover continues to work toward their first win of the season.
