Nordonia Knights Boys Varsity Volleyball shut out Strongsville Mustangs 3-0 at their Wednesday night home game March 29, 2023, which brought the Knights’ record to 4 -3 and Strongsville to 0-6. All three sets won by the Knights; 1st and 2nd sets were closer games within 3-5 points throughout, with Knights coming out ahead 25-20 in both 1st and 2nd sets, and Knights leave the Mustangs dumbfounded with a win of 25-16.
Junior Anthony Coneglio #3, MH, RS, was selected as Maxpreps player of the match vs. Strongsville at Knights’ home game with five kills and eight attacks, and 62.5% kills.
Junior Gianni Covelli #1,OH, had 3.9 kills per set, twenty-two attacks, with 50.0% kills.
Sophomore EJ Sopata #0, OH, had fifteen kills, giving him a 3.9 kills per set, twenty-three attacks.
Junior Brandon Matteo #13, MH, at 6’7”. ten kills, 3.3 kills per set, sixteen attacks, and 62.5% kills.
Top Twenty Performers and rankings in Ohio are as follows; Matteo with 34 Total Blocks is 4th, Sopata- 12th with Serving 26 Aces, 16th is Covelli with 98 Kills, and 17th is Sopata with 98 Kills also, Sophomore Zac Fernandez has had 182 assists, which makes him 18th in Ohio.
