Knights Ready for Conference Opener Against Brecksville

Nordonia enters Suburban League play undefeated as they travel to face the Bees

The undefeated Nordonia Knights (3-0) will open Suburban League conference play tonight when they travel to Brecksville-Broadview Heights to face the Bees (2-1) at 7 p.m.

Nordonia enters the matchup having outscored opponents 140-53 through their first three games, averaging 46.7 points per contest. The Knights have been dominant on offense, posting 363.7 total yards per game while controlling the ground game with 150.7 rushing yards per outing.

The Bees present a different challenge, averaging 23 points per game while allowing 23.7 points to opponents. Brecksville has struggled defensively, giving up significant yardage through the air and on the ground.

Key players to watch include Nordonia’s Connor Whapham, who leads the rushing attack with 47.7 yards per game, and quarterback Steven Fakult, who has thrown for 210 yards per game. For the Bees, Dominick Jackson leads the receiving corps with 103 yards per game.

“We are excited to start Suburban League conference play tonight at Brecksville,” said Nordonia’s head coach Jeff Fox. “They are a good well coached team and our kids have been preparing hard for.”

The Knights will look to continue their perfect start as they begin the quest for a league championship. Tonight’s game marks the beginning of a challenging conference schedule that includes matchups with Solon, North Royalton, and Wadsworth.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.
