Lady Varsity Bowling Team records Consistent Wins

Happy new year! Now is a great time to think about all the great things the Nordonia Varsity Girls bowling team has done and how they’ve grown over the past week, which has been full of exciting challenges and wins. Our hardworking team played in five matches in a week that was full of action. They managed to balance three matches and two events. Now, let’s break down how everything unfolded.

The week kicked off with the Ohio Buckeye Classic tournament in Columbus on Saturday, January 6th. This time, things didn’t go as hoped, and the team didn’t snag a win or a tournament victory, finishing in 6th place.

But this is just a step in the journey, a reason to push even harder. Grace Bzdafka came in close second in 17th place, but Kaitlyn McNutt took first place for the team with a strong 510 series.

Then, on Wednesday, January 11th, the girls continued their unbeaten streak in the Suburban League with a solid win over Solon. Abby Toronski was the star this time, leading with a 378 series over two games.

Lexi DeMarco and Brooke Barnes were right there too, adding their own strong series to the mix. The JV girls didn’t have a match, but they bowled their hearts out for their averages.

The winning streak continued on Thursday against North Royalton. The team pulled off an impressive win with high scores all around. Kaitlyn McNutt was the top performer, with others like Grace Bzdafka and Abby Toronski not far behind. The JV team also got their chance to shine, winning their match against North Royalton’s full JV team.

The victories didn’t just stop there. On Friday, January 12th, the girls faced Barberton and kept their winning momentum. The standout moment was Kaitlyn McNutt’s incredible 286 in her second game. The whole team bowled brilliantly, with every player contributing to another great win.

The week wrapped up with the Sectional Preview Tournament at Spins Lanes in Kent on Saturday, January 13th. The team finished strong in 3rd place, just a few pins shy of second. A special shout-out to Abby Toronski for earning all-tournament honors with her consistent high games.

The Nordonia Girls Varsity Bowling team has four games this coming week, which will keep them very busy. So let’s hope the girls keep up their great work and continue to make us all proud.

Go, Lady Knights!
