Summit County Sheriff Steve Barry would like to offer the public an opportunity to learn the warning signs of teenage substance misuse. Sheriff Barry is collaborating with the RX Abuse Leadership Initiative of Ohio to host the RALI CARES educational trailer (Code 3). Please join Sheriff’s Office personnel on April 18, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Target Plaza located at 8282 Golden Link Boulevard in Northfield Center Township.
The Code 3 Trailer is set up as a mock teenage bedroom for parents to walk through and look at possible warning signs of drug abuse or use. As parents walk through, Sheriff’s Deputies will answer questions and teach parents about warning signs, potential areas of concern, and how to engage their children in these difficult conversations.
The Code 3 trailer was designed with the help of former addicts as well as parents, who pointed out concealing tactics they have encountered while struggling with their kid’s addictions. The trailer is a helpful tool in prevention and early warning sign education.
Special note: age 21 and older please.
Follow up questions should be directed to Inspector William Holland at 330-620-9738.
