This is how a respectable, honorable, council person, life long resident, who was never convicted of any crime explains the circumstances behind the police video in question.
I encourage anyone to watch this police video from the beginning all the way through to the end.
What I want people to know about this incident:
- I personally did not want the police involved. It was just a family matter. I think I told them 6 times. It is my right to be silent. The police were frustrated because they were not getting any response from me.
- I have hearing loss in both ears.
- I did not break any laws. You can ask the Village of Northfield Law Director Brad Bryan.
- I went to the emergency room because my shoulder popped out and the doctor gave me a cortisone shot and I did therapy six months after the incident.
- I called the chief of police, to get a public apology and nothing more. The police chief told me that they will not apologize because they were following protocol.
My daughter is a military police officer, my son-in-law is a police officer in Akron, one of my very good friends is a retired police chief, and a close friend is a retired deputy from Cuyahoga County.
As the mayor of Northfield Village, I will promote “Protect and Serve”.
