I was honored to take part in your private ceremony at Walsh Jesuit last night. Being able to meet and talk with all of those school superintendents and staff from across Ohio was amazing. It definitely gave me different respect and appreciation for the work they do. Thank you for honoring me and the kind words you said. I’m truly grateful Mr. Douglas that you are a part of my life.
Sometimes we are fortunate in life to meet someone that not knowing at the time will become part of your life permanently. I met Micheal or as we called him “Mr. D.” or Mr. Douglas in 1992 as a student teacher in my English class at Nordonia High School. Somehow we got into a conversation at some point that he was selling his 1984 green Mustang SVO. I ended up purchasing the car (which I still own to this day) from that point forward we became friends and are still this day as well. Throughout high school he had my back and also mentored me along the way with some issues I ran into. I remember getting dropped off to get help with schooling when you rented a little place by Rockside Rd. in Bedford. Nowadays when I come over to visit and see your beautiful house in Chesterland and that beautiful Bentley automobile. I think back to how you started with nothing and built your success. You show to all that you can be anything you want to be and can have anything if you put in the dedication. The work you do for our local communities is a blessing. You’re a great mentor and role model for everyone all walks of life. You have affected so many peoples lives in a positive way. You’re the same hummable guy I met 27 years ago. I’m truly great full and blessed to have you as a friend.
