Library program to explore history of Summit County interurban trolleys

The Akron Summit County Public Library will host a program on the history of interurban trolleys in Summit County later this month. The event takes place on August 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library branch, 60 South High Street in Akron.

Presenters bring local railway expertise

Local interurban historian Allen Pfenninger will lead the presentation. Pfenninger is connected with the Historical Society of Old Northfield. A representative from the Northern Ohio Railway Museum will also attend to share information about the organization and its activities.

The program is part of the library’s regular community programming schedule. Seating is limited to 50 participants, so early registration is encouraged.
