Have a child or adolescent ages 7-17 who is interested in acting? Do they like to change their voice or pretend to be someone else? Perhaps they are good at singing and have a great stage presence, or like to shine in the spotlight? What if they like to sing but are hesitant or shy? Some acting/singing classes may be just what they need.
The Macedonia recreation center welcomes Julie Matthews with her expertise, with over forty-two years of experience as a casting director and acting coach, she knows what it takes to be on camera, focusing on film and television acting.

Julie Matthews will work on confidence, technique and audition skills through performances offered to adolescents ages 7-17. Sign up for a six class-series being offered at The Macedonia recreation center on Wednesdays starting November 16-December 21, 2022 from 4:30pm-6pm, concluding with a live performance showcase. $175 includes all six classes. The Macedonia recreation center is now registering for “Christmas Movie Favorites”. What an exciting opportunity to try something new and fun! They will be able to perform actual movie and tv scenes and leave with a DEMO! This could make a great Christmas or holiday gift. The performance will put adolescents in the spotlight and make their personalities/voices shine!

Background
Julie Matthews studied at the world renowned Actors Studio in New York City under Lee Strasburg. She has several on screen and casting credits from highly recognized movies such as “The Christmas Story”, “Hoffa” (Jack Nicholson), “Public Eye” (Joe Pesci), “Major League” (Kevin Costner), to name a few. “The Christmas Story” happens to be her favorite movie, not just because she appeared in the opening scene, and did the extras casting for the Cleveland locations, but because she feels that everything about that movie is “PERFECTION”.
Current screenwriter with “Soupernatural” and “The CONtest”, and coproduced “Eggshelland” a feature film documentary that has won multiple awards at film festivals nationally, as well as internationally. “Eggshelland” showcases Ron and Betty Manolio, Clevelanders- who saved eggshells for a year, painted them and transformed lives for the next 52 years!
Julie’s experience doesn’t stop here however. She is also a professional vocalist for a popular 60’s girl group called “The Pop Tarts”, whom recently composed and recorded an original Christmas album.
