Local Girl Wins “You Go Girl!” Award from Miss Ohio Volunteer Pageant

Mackenzie Rian Perry of Nelsonville, OH was crowned Miss Ohio Volunteer 2024

This past weekend was the third annual Miss Ohio Volunteer Pageant. Fourteen young ladies were vying for the 2 coveted titles of Miss Ohio Volunteer and Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer. Contestants competed in four phases of competition, each phase being worth 25% of their score: Interview, Fitness & Wellness, Talent, and Evening Gown.

The Miss Ohio Volunteer Organization is an official state preliminary to the Miss Volunteer America Pageant, a nationwide, service-oriented scholarship program based in Tennessee that seeks to empower young women across the country through educational scholarships and extraordinary opportunities.

Within its two year the Miss Volunteer America Pageant awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarships to young women across the country.

Mackenzie Rian Perry of Nelsonville, OH was crowned Miss Ohio Volunteer 2024 and will go on to represent Ohio at the Miss Volunteer America Pageant June 19-22, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee. Mackenzie is a 25-year-old ventriloquist whose SERVE Initiative is Home Is Where The Heart Is: Advocating for the Homeless. She not only won the title of Miss Ohio Volunteer but also received the S.E.R.V.E Award for her work with her SERVE Initiative and the Overall Talent Award.

Additional awards included: 1st Runner-Up – Ava Marguerite Moore, 2nd Runner-Up – Baylee Joy Martin, Fitness & Wellness – Ava Marguerite Moore, Evening Gown – Ava Marguerite Moore, Miss Congeniality – Kameshia Moxley, People’s Choice – Morgan Payne, Glam Gal Spirit Award – Jill Schneider, and Non-Finalist Recognition – Morgan Payne, Kameshia Moxley, Jill Schneider & Jacinda Gonzalez.

Walking away with the title of Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer 2024 was Aly Kramer. She will represent Ohio at the Miss Teen Volunteer America Pageant March 6-9, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee. A 16-year- old dancer from Sagamore Hills, Aly’s SERVE Initiative is “You go Girl!”, Girls Empower Girls. Lucabella was also awarded the Overall Talent Award at this year’s Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer Pageant.

Additional awards received for Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer included: 1st Runner-Up – Meggan Hitchens, 2nd Runner-Up – Aliah Marie Williamson, Interview – Aliah Marie Williamson, Evening Gown – Meggan Hitchens, Miss Congeniality – Aliah Marie Williamson, People’s Choice – Cadence Heaton, Social Media Award – Cadence Heaton, SimplyUn4getable Award – Jayden Allen, and Non-Finalist Recognition – Cadence Heaton, Jayden Allen, Brooke Hall & Mary Elizabeth Sherman.

Over $15,000 in scholarships were awarded at the Miss Ohio Volunteer Pageant as well as in-kind scholarships to multiple Ohio colleges and universities.
