Local Students Shine at State Honor Band

Fourteen talented young musicians from our community recently participated in the prestigious American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA) State Honor Band event held at Wooster High School on February 28-March 1.

The event brought together exceptional student musicians from across Ohio, with 11 of our middle school students joining the 86-member Middle School Honor Band and 3 high school students participating in the 92-member High School Honor Band.

Mary L. Schrembeck, Director of Middle School Bands, nominated these outstanding students for this honor. Ms. Schrembeck has been a member of ASBDA since 2013, an organization that requires invitation for membership and is dedicated to promoting quality music education in schools.

“ASBDA has a mission statement of providing quality music education in our schools and you must be invited to become a member by the Association,” explains Ms. Schrembeck.

The selection of these students for this state-level honor reflects their exceptional musical talents and dedication. Their participation represents our school and community at this prestigious event.

Congratulations to all participants for representing our school and community with such distinction!
