IT’S MEMBERSHIP TIME!
It’s that time of year for membership renewal with Longwood Manor Historical Society. If you are a current member you may have already received the membership renewal packet in the mail.
If you are not a member, now is the time to get in touch. If you would like to join, or help with restoration, contact LMHS on our website, or come to an Open House or meeting. All are invited.
Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at the manor, Open Houses on the fourth Sunday. Check the website (www.longwoodmanor.org) for more information.
LMHS has held numerous events this past year on the manor grounds and in Longwood Park. The first annual Mother’s Day Ladies Tea, and LMHS Rummage Sale, were very successful events.
Many music lovers attended the performance by the University Heights Symphonic Band in July. Haunted Hallows in October entertained children and adults with creepy offerings.
Members of LMHS were at Winterfest assisting Santa or busy in Santa’s workshop passing out hot chocolate and crispy treats. This year we are looking forward to repeating these events and adding new ones. Work was done on the flat roof and tuck-pointing of the chimney. Plans this year are to work on restoring the second and third floors and making those available for viewing.
All this would not be possible without your support; not only monetarily, but with your time. We also need to continue to demonstrate to the City of Macedonia that there are people who want to see the Manor restored. Longwood Manor Open House tours will resume on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, from 1pm until 4pm. The March 26th Open House has been canceled.
