Macedonia Council Meeting: City to Get First Electric Vehicle

Residents will soon see a new type of vehicle tooling along the streets of Macedonia.

Council voted on February 7 to finalize the purchase of a 2023 Endurance CCIL pickup truck through Lordstown EV Corporation.

According to a statement attached to the legislation, the cost will be just over $60,000.

The purchase was approved without formal bidding and advertising due to emergency needs, according to the legislation.

The truck will be used by the Service Department, Mayor Nicholas Molnar said.

“I believe we will be one of the first municipalities to have it and test it and try it,” Molnar said at the January 12 Council meeting.

“These trucks are made for commercial use only and are not being sold to the public,” Molnar added in January.
