Local Male Charged With Open Container Twice
On Wednesday November 13th, a clerk working at Speedway on Rt 82 brought to the attention of a Macedonia police officer that a male had been in the bathroom for over 20 minutes. Based on the description it matched a male that the local police were commonly dealing with for similar reasons.
The police officers knocked and then kicked the bathroom door to get a response from the male but heard nothing. The police officers were able to unlock the bathroom door to check the safety of the male. The male in question was found sitting on the toilet leaning against the wall with his headphones on sleeping. In the middle of the floor was a open 24 oz beer. The police officers woke him and walked him out to the patrol car where he was cited with Open Container through Stow Municipal Court. He was advised of his court date and also told to not return to Speedway.
On Thursday, November 14th, a similar incident occurred at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart reported a suspicious make sitting on the sidewalk in front of the building. According to the police report, the male looked intoxicated and had an open beer sitting in front of him.
When the police arrived they found the same male and the previous incident (see above). He was sitting on the ground, hunched over and asleep. They woke him up and asked him what he was doing there and he mumbled some words about trying to go to his father’s house. The police officer asked him about the beer and he admitted to it being his.
