Macedonia Police Reports: BOLO, Domestic Dispute, Suspicious Male and Theft – January 24-30, 2025

Stolen Vehicle Recovered on I-271; Suspect in Custody (January 24)

  • Officers responded to a BOLO (Be On Look Out) from OSP regarding a stolen blue Kia on I-271 North. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Teair Williams, was taken into custody. The situation involved Williams taking his son and the child’s mother’s vehicle following an argument. The child was evaluated by MFD and found to be in good health. The vehicle and child were returned to the registered owner by Stark County deputies.

Domestic Dispute at Hotel; Suspect Flees Scene (January 26)

  • At approximately 2:43 AM, officers responded to hotel on E Highland Road for a reported disturbance. A male and female were reportedly fighting in a second-floor hallway. The female was found crying in her vehicle and reported being struck in the face by her boyfriend during an argument. The male had left the scene prior to police arrival. The female was evaluated by Macedonia Fire/EMS but declined to pursue charges.

Property Damage Reported on Navajo Trail After Snowfall (January 27)

  • Officers responded to 779 Navajo Trail regarding property damage that occurred on January 23. The homeowner reported a gray Mazda 3 lost control due to road conditions and slid into their front yard, damaging a drainpipe cover. The incident had initially been responded to for the disabled vehicle, but damage wasn’t visible at the time due to heavy snowfall.

Traffic Stop Leads to OVI Arrest and Aggravated Menacing Charge (January 28)

  • At approximately 2:36 AM, Officer Srbinovich conducted a traffic stop on SR 82 after observing a black Cadillac with dark window tint driving erratically. The driver, Aaron Merriman, displayed signs of impairment including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test later showed a BAC of .168. Merriman was arrested for OVI and additionally charged with aggravated menacing after making threatening statements to the officer.

Suspicious Vehicle Stop Results in Drug-Related Arrest (January 29)

  • Officers responded to the area of Berkshire and Longbrook regarding a suspicious male in a blue Chevy. The driver, identified as Gemes Brewer, was arrested for driving without a license and outstanding warrants. During the stop, officers discovered drug paraphernalia including crack pipes and unprescribed Gabapentin pills in the vehicle.

Employee Reports Wallet Theft at Walmart; Investigation Ongoing (January 30)

  • A theft was reported at the Macedonia Commons Walmart. An employee reported their wallet was stolen from their purse in the employee break room between January 25-27. The stolen items included a black Juicy Couture wallet containing a social security card, North Carolina driver’s license, and two credit cards. The credit cards were canceled with no unauthorized charges reported. Investigation ongoing with security footage review pending.

All incidents reported in this blotter have been addressed and documented by the Macedonia Police Department. Some cases remain under investigation.
