Macedonia Police handled multiple arrests and incidents from late July through early August. Officers arrested a man found unconscious in his running vehicle on I-271 with a .143 BAC and open beer containers. Local retailers reported shoplifting incidents including shoe swapping at Nordstrom Rack, skip-scanning at Walmart, and thefts at Kohl’s totaling nearly $600 in merchandise.
Two separate OVI arrests involved suspects with prior convictions who refused breath tests, including one driving 51 mph in a 25 mph zone with open containers. A domestic violence arrest occurred after a woman with mental health issues threw a butter knife at her sister’s face during a family dinner dispute. Additional incidents included a drug arrest at Speedway involving suspected methamphetamine and multiple mutual aid responses to neighboring departments for mental health crises and a motorcycle pursuit.
